induction motor cont. AB p.flex

hi everyone, i need to ask sth about my senior prj. i had done some PLc steps a bit.. like varying freq. from rs logx ladder, giving ref. by pot. .. but i think i need to use a tachometer to get feedback....
what should i do at further steps for cntrlling ac motor? (pow.flx 70 is used)
how ll i control? (vfd only?) can you share your opinions? because i dont want to get lost among so wide stuffs... thanks

here's a hint.

think about your project from start to finish.
how did you get your speed equation to the vfd?
is it a math formula?
