guys:

I have a problem with my IP configuration. my organization networking has 2 subnets.
10.0.0.25 and 10.1.0.25
both under 255.255.255.0

all the office stuff is under 10.0.0.xx
all the equipment machines are under 10.1.0.xx

we have main PLC 10.1.0.121
plc slave1 10.1.0.122
plc slave2 10.1.0.123
hmi1 10.1.0.130
hmi2 10.1.0.131

virtual hmi1 to monitor 10.1.0.131_11102
virtual hmi2 to monitor 10.1.0.132_11103

something happened in the server, at least that is what i think, we lost the virtual hmi plus we are not able to ping any of those IP 10.1.0.xx from 10.0.0.xx we used to be able to ping or monitor the virtual hmi with no problems.

from my PC(10.0.0.161) I can ping my gate way 10.0.0.25 and also the other gateway 10.1.0.25. However, I can not go to 10.1.0.121 or any other IP 10.1.0.xx.

any ideas about what could be wrong, is it my PLC? or is it inside the switch/routher?

note: I tried changing my IP address to a random IP 10.1.0.150, it worked with this IP address, i lose internet access but now I can ping whatever is inside the 10.1.0.xx

help please.

The mask will limit you to your own subnet. Traversing between subnets with a /24 mask will be routing done by the gateway device. The fact you can ping 10.1.0.25 from your machine at 10.0.0.161 implies either your 10.0.0.1 gateway allows it, or your subnet mask is actually 255.255.0.0.
It sounds like the gateway has lost its routing tables.

You posted this problem a while back in another thread. The advice is the same. You have a routing problem and only the people who handles your router can fix it.
