Working on a machine we recieved that has a compact logix plc and kinetics servo and trying to get a better understanding in order to make some modifications.
Program in plc is documented pretty good. At the first he list the type of moves and has the following listed.
ReferenceSource Via Enet IP
0 = Current Control
1 = Velocity Control
2 = Incremental Positioning
3 = Absolute Positioning
4 = Incremental Registration
5 = Absolute Registration
Looking through kinetics manual and it mentions the above but no real details, at least not that i fully understand.
Could someone lead me to a document or explain what 5=Absolute Registration exactly means. In the first of the program he is moving a 5 into a tag defined as reference_source. Then in the program if it is equal to 5, he is performing a homing and after the homing is complete, he moves a 3=Absolute Positioning. I understand what 3 means but not sure what 5 means and how it is referenced by the kinetic 300 drive.
Thanks for any advice.
