It takes a minute or two just to open, I think this is from the license checks.
After it is open it takes like 5-10 minutes to upload a 2.5MB program from the PLC.
I spoke with support and they say it's because I'm using a VM with NAT and not bridged with a dedicated IP address.
They also said it's because I'm using a VPN with a ping of around 100ms.
It often times will not see the PLCs for a time and was locking up for a day, every time I tried to go online. I even let it set overnight and it never let me click anything after it finished the upload.
It just seems supper fragile as all my RDP connects to the same location through the same VPN are stable and responsive.
I spent all day yesterday downloading the software (why is everything you need to download from Rockwell 8GB?) to a production PC that is on site but is only for the HMI software. So no VPN and a 1ms ping. It was then able to connect and upload in like 30 seconds. It still takes like 2 minutes to just open Designer.
