Make REST call from Windows CE HMI (Siemens)?

Hi everyone;

Our objective is to drop barcodes into a MySQL database from a Siemens S7 1214C.

We've established that there are no drivers for WinCE |--| MySQL connectivity.

So, next thing to try is to run a simple REST api on the MySQL database machine and use it to tap the DB.

How can a REST call be made from either the PLC or the HMI?

There is a Library for Communications on the support site, which includes HTTP Get/Post/Put instructions for the PLC. I'm pretty sure that gets you at least part of the way to a REST client. They are built on the standard TSEND type blocks for open socket TCP/UDP comms.
