MicroLogix 1200 Fault Reset

I have a MicroLogix 1200 that has an 8 input and a 16 output.
Every 6 months-year I get a fault and when online go to error it
is something like it didn't recognize one of the expansion modules.
Clearing error and all is fine. I believe I set something in processor
maybe S:1/8 so cycling power will reset fault. Is that correct?
This controller was reinstalled at a different facility, completely different
program, ran a year and now it gave Fault again.
Is the S:1/8 what needs set in it to clear fault on a cycle of power?

set to 1 for clear fault on power cycle?

Concentrate less on how to clear the fault, and more on preventing the fault happening.

You said it was an expansion module, and I would suggest you might have a physical connection problem which can be caused by "dirty" contacts. I've had similar issues with plug-in modules on ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and others.

Try re-seating the modules, ideally using a proprietary contact cleaner spray.

Does the panel have controlled heating to stop it approaching dew-point ?

And keep panel enclosures closed when you don't need access to them.

Prevention is always better than a temporary "cure".

I have reseated the Cables from PLC to Expansion modules (1762 modules)
since the processor was reused when it was moved to a different facility it actually
has 3 modules and they are not the same as when it was at the other plant.
I would guess it is in the PLC side connection, This is the first time this fault showed up at this facility in a year. Probably remove ML1200 & do a ML1400
