micrologix 1500 with OMRON NS HMI

Hello folks,
Hope everyone is doing fine.

I got an OMRON NS10-TVOOB-V2 hmi screen last day and planning to use it with Micrologix 1500.


1. Is it possible to connect the HMI in channel 1 of ML 1500 (RS 232)?
( In one of the manuals I saw CBL pmo2 cable is required to connect the HMI with the PLC, but that port ( channel 0) is used for communication with software.)

2. Is there any free software for the Omron HMI configuration and design?

Good Morning,
The Omron NS series will not connect to a Rockwell PLC.
Omron, Mitsubishi and Siemens can be connected.


Software is CX-Designer, there is no free version of this.


The Omron NB series would connect to Micrologix.
NB Designer software is a free download from Omron.

I made some research on this topic today. I came to see a pdf regarding the plc compatibility. I have attached the snippets from it for reference.
On page number 100 it's saying about the connection with Rockwell PLCS.
But not sure whether it's possible to connect the two together.

Sorry, I was looking in an old manual.
V092-E1-12 manual shows connection information for Rockwell in Chapter 9.
Shows all the information you should need to connect.



There is NO free software for the NS series.
Lite version of CX-One would be the least expensive option.
