Anyone have any experience using a modbus to can bus converter, basically I have can master that I need to pull analog data from a modbus slave, either rtu or tcip. I have a icpdas i7232 but the documents such big time, I would like something easier to set up. Any thoughts

Hi,

HMS Industrial Networks has both CANopen to Modbus RTU and CANopen to Modbus TCP/IP.
http://www.anybus.com/support/support.asp?PID=107&ProductType=Anybus Communicator
http://www.anybus.com/support/support.asp?PID=465&ProdType=Anybus X-gateway
and they are both easy to set up, basically all you need to do on the gateway is to set up what registers you need to read/write.
With CANopen to Modbus RTU, there is a configuration tool and with the CANopen to Modbus TCP/IP there is a built in web server.
