I am trying to connect to a C60 K Omron PLC to upload the program.

I have:
- Host Link 3G2C7-LK201-EV1
- RS232 Cable to connect to the Host Link to my serial port
(COM 1)
- SYSWIN 3.2

I tried every baud setting I could and I still cant upload. There were a few postings a few years ago about this problem but nothing conclusive.

The RS232 cable is a "Null Modem" cable. If you are using a "Straight Thru" cable it won't work. See this link.

Thanks!

I have downloaded all the material.

Is LSS the software I need to use? I tried to download but I recieved and error it couldnt find a file which is located in the same folder.

I dont know about LSS software. The Syswin Ver. 3.4 has that PLC listed as CxxK. Your Syswin Ver. 3.2 probably has it listed that way also. I hope you are using a Real Physical RS232 port and not a USB to RS232 adapter, sometimes USB to RS232 adapters cause problems with old software.

It does, I tried to connect by setting the CxxK. would you know what the baud rate is set on the back the the HOST LINK? I changed the baud rate on my PC to match what is set on the HOST LINK and "no joy". Do you know what the baud rate might be set at on the PLC itself or is the baud rate set by the HOST LINK?

The baud rate is set using DIP switches at the back side of Host Link unit. There is also a sticker explaining the DIP switch pin settings. See the attached pdf

Hope this helps,

Syswin will work for all CXXK Omron PLC's (as will LSS, but it is VERY old)

Comm settings have been provided for you by jrwb4gbm. Settings on back of host link must match settings in Syswin. Ensure "unit number"(Syswin communication setup, under Project Tab, communications) match host link "Machine NO.".

The host link has the comm data, not the PLC. That is what the Host link is for. You have the correct Host Link.

Don't mess with your PC comm data, just ensure you have the correct serial port selected in Syswin, usually Com1.

MRPLC.com is a great resource.

I matched the machine number, parity, baud rate and CTS to 0V and I still recieve an error "No response from the PLC". Any ideas??
