PB32 on windows 7 using xp mode

I have windows 7 with a "professional" added on.I plan on using this in XP mode. Is there anything I need to do other that install my software... Like upgrade Rslinx?

My old desk top crashed and I lost everything. So I will have to upgrade my rs logic 500 to the newest version to run it on windows 7 because all I have is the floppy master key and it's stuck in my old pc.... Now I will just use pb.32 in xp mode on the new laptop as AB does not offer Pb32 for windows 7.

So any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I have been running PB32 successfully on Win7 for years. Have you tried to run it?

IIRC PB32 will run alright on Win7 32-bit, but not 64-bit. I have to use XP mode to use it.

RSLinx 2.57 is what I have installed in my XP-Mode Machine.

I loaded it and I tried to upload my pv300 with no success.
RS linx doesn't seem to be working.

What driver are you using?

If RS232 (DF1), check to see if the VM com port is pointing to your serial port.

The PIC/AIC driver will not work in a virtual machine.

I am not currently using vmware or xp mode, I am using a keyspan usb to serial.(DF1)

What version of Windows 7? 64-bit? 32-bit? I assume 32-bit, since-- as I've stated-- PB32 won't work on 64-bit.

What version of RSLinx?

Is this the same USB adapter you used before? IIRC, Keyspan uses a Prolific chipset in it. Perhaps using something with an FTDI chipset in it would work better for you.

Like I said on my first post I am planning on using the XP mode but I have not yet. So there is not anything special I need to do as far as updatting rslinx or anything.
