PLC 5/40E, SLC 5/03, SLC 5/02 Diagnostics & DH485 Network Survey

You can go online with enhanced PLC5 CPUs via the serial Ch0 port. Classic PLC5 CPUs does not have this port.
edit: The PLC5/15 is a classic CPU, so this method wont work for that one.

It requires that Ch0 has been setup to DF1, and not an alternative protocol.

The Ch0 port must be set to RS232 via the dip swithces on the CPU.

The serial cable 25-9 pin is part # 1784-CP11. You connect a USB-to-serial adapter to the 1784-CP11 cable.

In RSLinx, you must configure a DF1 connection. With a USB-to-serial, the "autoconfigure" function in RSLinx may not always work, so the connection parameters may have to be set manually.
