Anyone can let me know what is the communication interface & software to communicate with PLC 2?

Can we use 1784-PCMK?

Thx.

Correct me if i'm wrong:

The comm interface for PLC 2 is;

1) 1784-KT/KT2/KL/KTP with 1784-CP2 cable (62pins - 15pins)
2) 1784-PCMK with 1784-PCM2 cable

Software required;
1) AI-2 *

* Can only run in DOS or Win95/98 DOS mode.

I am not positive about the PLC-2, I know AB stopped supporting them several years ago. At the time they had migration tools to convert to a PLC5.

This may offer some help: http://www.ab.com/silver/plc2.html

You are correct, the PCMK and PCM/2 cable is used with the PLC-2, should have looked in my PCMK manual.

It looks like you have your facts correct.

Check w/ your distributor before you buy a PCMK card; they may not support PLC-2 after Series A. Also, make sure if you have/get a Series A card that you get a Series A cable; series B cables won't work w/Series A cards.

OMG, I almost overlook this! So this means only series B will only work with PLC-2?

My own explaination is, when we need to go online with PLC-2, AI series programming software must be used. Because of this AI series does not provides drivers for PCMK series B, so we must use series A in this scenario.

Same goes to 1784-KT, we can't use KTX because AI series does not support. KTX only support in RSLinx. Correct me if I'm wrong.

AI series is using WINIntelligent / WINLinx or...?

Can we use 6200 instead of A.I Series?

Thx for everyone's reply. :)

Kamu tidak bisa paket golongan kartu B dengan PLC 2 . Kamu harus membeli golongan A (yang tua) , cari di ebay - jangan campur kabel B sama Kartu A

Yes 6200 can be used....before you get too frustrated goto the AB download section. There are some tools there to help with using a PCMK on the PLC2. I believe there are also some conversion tools too.
