Power flex 4M speed issue

I’m using a PF 4M with 4-20 mA speed reference. Keypad start stop. The drive will go up to speed and allow me to adjust speed with my 4-20 signal unless I reduce speed to zero. Once I do reduce speed to zero the drive won’t allow me to increase speed and it eventually faults on over current. I’m using an unloaded motor and mostly default settings on the drive. Any advice?

Hi,
Is the motor that's attached to the drive rated for inverter use? Some of those motors can lock and stall out if they are run at too low of a frequency for too long.

Also, complete loss of the 4-20ma signal can prevent the motor from turning even if the signal is recovered. If it goes too far below 4ma certain fault modes may kick in to stop operation.

I would make sure the drive reference is set up for 4-20ma
they can be set to 0-20ma, 0-10V or -10v to10V
also disable reverse direction run
if the referencs ramps down to 0 the drive could try to run in reverse and them over current
you may want to set it up to have the speed reference from the keypad and see what happens
