I am using the AB ML1100 PLC's analog inputs for set point control of a pump for both automatic pumping down a vacuum tank and pumping up of a Pressure tank. I have a vacuum sensor with a (-30 to 0 "hg) 4 - 20 ma output and a pressure sensor with(0 to 100 psi) a 4 - 20 ma output as inputs to v1 and v2.

I plan to have the vacuum setpoints as -22 "Hg to 15"Hg and the pressure setpoints as 25 psi to 60 psi.

My question is how do I program instructions I:0.4 and I:0.5 to accomplish the above?

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Harold,

You will also need to modify the wiring if you plan to use the 4-20mA transmitters. The ML1100 only supports 0-10V on the 2 x base analogues. If you wire a 500ohm (precision) resistor across IN0+ and ANL COM (for the first transmitter), you should get (approx) 2-10V deflection.

Just use an SCP instruction to scale your data - see pic below as a typical example...

Hope this helps get you started.

Rob
