used for Fast inputs
BCD is binary coded decimal.
it is unrelated to the type of input card.
but it is a form of data that consists of atleast 4 inputs
you write the code to determine haw you use it

about BCD modules have you any simple example to make it clear for me
 
look for TTL a databook from texas instrumnets.
old technique to have digital control with AND OR NAND etc.
the 7400 series was famous for this

BCD is a code for display.
the byte is divided into nibble and each nibble is for one hewdisplay.
