Reset HSC in S7-1200

I am using HSC_1 in S7-1200,Encoder has PPR 1000.
In properties using external Reset option I can reset the HSC at 1000.
But unable to reset at any other values. For example what to do if I want to reset the counter at 500.
Plz Suggest any solution.
 
From what I understood on reading the manual,you can reset at other values by using comparison instruction on the directly read Count Value and setting CV = 1(keeping NEW_CV value as 0) when the desired current count value occurs, but it will not be very reliable because of the reason given in this note provided in the manual:
