Hey Guys!! I'm new at learning how to use the Rslogix 500 program. Ive tried to learn a lot of this on my own. I have a question that hopefully you guys can answer!! Whenever I configure driver, I use Ethernet devices 9 (I'm using an Ethernet cable that comes out of my laptop to the processor). Without going around in circles, I click on the icon of the plc and an error 0x10 comes up. I know what it means but don't know how to fix. Any thoughts would be great Thanks!!

According to tech support that error will come up when using a 1761-NET-ENI to connect to a SLC 5/03 or 5/04 but not with an Ethernet SLC. If you are using a ENI then they suggest the following:

  • RSLinx Classic v2.30 or later needs to be used,
  • Channel 0 of SLC-500 controller must be configured for DF1 full duplex
  • Pass-Thru bits in the controller: S34/0 and S34/5 must be set to 0.
  • Use Ethernet devices driver (AB-ETH) instead of Ethernet/IP driver (AB-ETHIP).
