Hi,

I have reinstalled RSLogix 5000 on my computer after a full formatting of my PC. I now have RSLogix versions from 10.06 to 16.03 (I am on a Windows XP SP2 system).

When I try to open a RSLogix file, which is version 15.02, I can't see any aliases.

Let me explain, let say that I have a tag named "Left_Position_Actual", normally it is an alias for "Local:4:I.Ch0Data". Now it isn't anymore. In the program, my tag "Left_Position_Actual" is at the right places, but it doesn't reference to my analog input...

I opened that file with another PC and I have everything fine. I tried to open projects of other versions (13, 16, etc.): same problem.

Any suggestion beside reinstall the software?

Thanks

Mary

let's check the easy stuff first ...

I'm not certain that I understand your question ... are the aliases just NOT SHOWN - or are they NO LONGER ATTACHED to the base addresses? ... check this in the tag listings - and not just in the ladder display ...

next I'd recommend an experiment ... use your "new" system to create a JUNK file with a "known good" alias ... then see if that gets displayed properly ...

Thanks for your fast answer.

For the easy stuff, the option was already checked.

And for your second question, the tags are no longer attached to the base address.

I don't think the problem is with the file, because if I open it with another PC, everything is fine.

There must be something with my PC.... but what?

Thanks

Mary

I haven't had to do this for a long time, however, the standard fix for odd-ball problems used to be to export the file to L5K and then re-import.
