I am looking to lock the output value of a PID block to the last known good value when the block is disabled. To allow for a smooth restart.

Can I do this with the Inhold and Inhold values? I have never used these functions before.

Any better schools of thought?

Tie the PID CV out back to the the CVInitValue. Trigger CVInitReq to lock and hold the CV at the last value.

There is a technote in the AB KB showing how to do this for a Low Select control - It should be simple to adapt the example to your app.
