I am looking at a program and have a few questions maybe one of you can assist with.
It is a Compactlogix processor
It has a few input cards and a few output cards
Included in this situation is a PF700s drive
If I remember correctly this is basically a Vector drive that
can use encoder feedback's or not.
So first the problem
The Old drive failed, or so they say
They purchased a new one and downloaded a set of parameters
supplied to them from Rockwell based on the old parameters
print out they had when the drive was installed.
The drive stops very hard and starts very hard.
I ask them if they tuned the drive to the machine when they
replace it, they had no idea what I was talking about.
Now the PLC has a single motion profile, setup with all the normal blocks you would see in a software motion profile. If
I remember correctly you can only have one profile in the PLC
I do not see any special cards in the chassis, and I do not
see an Ethernet connection to the 700s, so i am assuming
they are doing hard wire stop and start and 4-20ma signal
to set the speed up or down to create the motion profile.
I have included a screen shot of the tree
Based on the AXIS properties it shows a feedback counts
but I see no card associated with an encoder
