I'm sure that will be coming at some point. I've done some troubleshooting with a rented field service laptop. But my largest customer uses step 7 classic, so I need to master that first.
While I'm waiting for the other CPU, here's what I have so far. I think I'll connect both CPUs together to practice messaging between them. I also have an S7-200 that I might add. Not sure how many Profinet bus connectors I have... the need is starting to add up.
Networking components is one thing I haven't done in the Siemens world yet. I need to create a DB block and understand how to set it up for values going to and from the VFDs. I also need experience setting up and managing the AS-i network, since my customer uses it extensively in their plant. Anyway... it'll be nice to have something I can get some experience on to take my Siemens skills up a notch or two.
Blocks written in STL also give me be trouble. Ugh! They use it so often, and nothing is commented... it's very slow to troubleshoot!
Totally unacceptable.
Are you sure you cant display the STL code as LAD or FBD ? Or maybe it is compiled GRAPH or SCL code.
If it is truly uncommented STL code, it is grounds for firing, my opinion.
