seimens cp5611 driver

where can I get a driver for this card. Is there any license needed for the card to work to the PC.

A CP5611 is a profibus ISA slot card, the 11 denotes that it is a dumb card and will require softnet to run. The drivers for this card will be on the Simaticnet CD that should have come with the card. If you have no CD let me know what OS you are using on the PC and I might be able to email you the required drivers.

As I have 2 Siemens PG's I am not talking from experience here, just what I have been told. Others might have different advice on this for you.

Hello Labingtone;
There are very few freebies in the Siemens world, and sofware licensing is not one of them. Yes, you will require a software license to run the driver you need (by the way, there are several Softnet drivers available for the CP5611; you need to determine the one you need, as each one requires a different licence authorization).
I you install the software without license you will get a Simatic Net message every time you try to communicate through the CP5611 and the operation will be blocked.
