Sending string from 5/05 to server

Does anyone know the best method for sending a data string from an Allen Bradley slc 5/05 to a server. I have a data string located in a ST file that I need to send through channel 1 (ethernet) to a local server.

I also have several applications where I am trying to send data from a slc 5/04 to the same server. On the 5/04's I have devicenet installed and I am currently looking at different devicenet to ethernet gateways. Is this the best method for getting the data from the plc to the server?
