The PLC software is not monitoring at the speed of the scan time of the CPU - it's just going to show the status of whenever it picked up the value.

PLC programming is primarily about time, and the scan cycle is the clock.


With PLCs, thinking about when something happens is far more important than thinking about what happens.

BTW, it's time to upgrade the S5 if you plan on keeping the machine for any length of time.

That's the only reason I'm going through this code. Unfortunately it's not upgrading to a Siemens PLC otherwise this would be easier.
