I will try and keep this as brief as possible..........we have "inherited" a project consisting of four master PLC's, lots of DP and PA devices. All devices can be written to and read in the PLC software without issue. But when we use PDM to modify PA instrument parameters, we can only access certain networks :- we get the message "Device not found, Communication attempt Failed, there is no usable route to the Target Device"
All CPU's 6ES7 414-2XK05-0AB0 firmware 5.3
Each CPU is using CP443-1, 6GK7 443-5DX04-0XE0 firmware 6.4, which gives two additional ports for DP.
We are then using IM 153-2 DP-PA couplers 6ES7 153-2-BA82-0XB0.
PLC1 - DP1 - PA1 network -Good, DP1 - PA3 network - Good
DP2 - PA2 - can't find devices DP2 - PA4 - Can't find devices
PLC 3 DP1 -PA1 - can't find devices, DP2 PA2 can't find devices
PLC 4 - same as PLC1 but DP1 Bad, DP2 Good,
PLC5 - both PA networks Good
Recompiled and downloaded Netpro and Hardware numerous times.
All connections done over ethernet from control room, but tried connecting directly onto PLC MPI/DP port - same results as above.
Have re-installed PDM, my colleague also has the same issue.
Is it possible to configure the DP-PA couplers locally ?? from what i have read they are a "dumb" device.
Any ideas welcome !!
