I need to connect to an ultra 3000 and was wondering if I could use one of my cables from industrial concepts and if so witch? I have a usb-1747-cp3 and ausb-211-nc13. anyone have a clue?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi

It's been a while put I could swear the cp3 is the one put I would not be 100% as I would have had a panel view cable with me also

My recollection is that the Ultra 3000 serial cables have only pins 2-3 / 3-2 / 5-5 connected, but that a 1747-CP3 or similar SLC-500 cable won't work.

I'm pretty sure that the Ultra 3000 cable is wired as a null modem, with pinout as Ken mentioned. However, it is female-to-male, not the usual female-to-female. So a gender changer would be required in order to use a standard null modem cable.

Thanks for the replies! I did not try either, I was trying to talk to two drive at once with two laptops. I was setting up a follower app and needed to look at both at the same time. neither cable would work/ gender issue. However the app is up and running
Thanks
