I am new to Wonderware and have to modify a large number of tags in an existing application. The DBDump and DBLoad utilities seem to be the way to go since I can work efficiently in Excel to make the modifications. The DBDump and making changes seems straight forward.

However, I don't quite get the DBLoad. It doesn't seem to be working for me. The first time I tried it Wonderware seems to create a new application in the process. The next time the changes didn't exist when I went into the application.

Wonderware's user guide has no details on this process. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

do you understand the :mode= in the first column?

I usually do mode=test and make sure everything is ok. it will tell you if the load failed and you can check the logger to see what is causing the fail. If everything is ok I do mode=replace. Ive never had it make a new application. you should be highlighting the application that you want to load to.

I assume your using the intouch app manager and not archestra or something? If so, you should simply select the app you want to load to on the list, then click DBLOAD, and it should load. It will tell you if it was ok or not, and if it failed, you can goto the log and see why it failed.

Have no idea why it made a new app. Never seen that.
