Writing Ladder Code

I think that generalizing the best way to develop ladder logic can be done in only very wide strokes. The reason is the variety of machines that are being controlled. But for me, the overall guiding principle has always been: separate the WHAT from the HOW. I.e. the strategy from the tactics.
