I am with Steve. I like the title "Controls Specialist" since it applies to more than just electrical controls, and "Automation Specialist" since it also applies very well to what most of us actually do.
Neither of those indicates a university degree, but certainly doesn't exclude them.
I have been a "Maintenance Specialist" as well, and found that a very fitting title. Now my latest title is "Project Manager" but I still often find myself fixing air leaks, tightening bolts, and even welding, among other trades.
I guess I still lean toward "Control System Specialist" or "Automation Specialist"
Oh, WDDIM? as long as it ends with "specialist", I think I would like it...after all, we are all somewhat 'special' aren't we? Even those who would call us weird, use that word with a special meaning...
