Dear All,
One of our client is using Visidaq software from Adavantech to control temperature of a small reactor using ADAM boards.The main reason for Visidaq selection is that user can write his own program in C/C++ , create a .dll file ,link with Visidaq.Thats the program logic.No need to use ladder or FBD.
Now Adavantech is not selling Visidaq and there is no support for it available.
We are supplying one new plant to this client.
We are using single loop PID controllers with RS485 & Citect software for data logging and control.
Client want to use his C/C++ programs or .dll files in our software.
How can we read .dll files in Citect ?
I have following way in my mind...
1) We will install Visidaq (which is available with client)
in our PC which is having Citect already installed.Client
will generate his ownn dll and will use in Visidaq as previous
one.We will ask client to create a DDE server in Visidaq.
We will create a DDE server in Citect & will read values from
Visidaq,as both are capable of reading & writting from DDE.
Is this going to work ? Has anybody ever done this before ?
Please let me know how to configure a DDE in visidaq & Citect.
Should we go for any othe software other than Citect ?
2)Citect has VBA interface in built.
Can we right a program in VB to import this .dll file and write
our own logic using tags from dll file ?
