Adding IB16S to the IO configuration - Logix Designer v31

Hello,

Im building project with 1756-L82ES controller and 1756-IB16S card but i cant find it when trying to add the card to IO configuration


Can i add something like GSD file to the Logix Designer or does this mean that i need at least v32 or higher to be able to use this card in my project, i am using v31 right now?

You need to add Add-On Profile and it will work for V32 and higher.

So basically first I need to get V32 or higher then I have to install add on profile to make it work. Do i understand it correctly?

Become familiar with the Product Compatibility and download utility on Rockwells support page. You can enter the 1756-L82ES and 1756-IB16S modules and test compatibility. It will list the requisite firmware and versions that are supported with any caveats to lost functionality on less than fully supported.

You should note that 31 isn't fully supported on an L82. Most of 32 is retired or limited. 34 should really be the minimum for an L8x processor, IMO.
