Allen Bradley 1770-KF2C Switches and serial configuration

Hi everyone,

I've been asked to help out an aluminium extrusion company that is trying to update their IT systems to something more recent - basically their press is being run using an operating system written in the early 1980s, and it's increasingly likely that they will be unable to find the necessary replacement parts soon.

Currently, I'm focusing on interfacing with their Allen-Bradley 1770-KF2 revision C. Unfortunately, the documentation that came with their custom build software is very very poorly written, and provides no useful information as to what the serial settings should be. All I have is a page that refers to some DIP switches on the 1770, and stipulates that they should be set as shown below.

Sw0: Off On
Sw1: On Off Off Off Off
Sw2: Off Off
Sw3: Off Off On
Sw4: On On On
Sw5: On On
Sw6: Off On On On
Sw7: Off Off

Is there some document somewhere that will tell me what each switch does? I've managed to work out that the settings correspond to 9600 baud, with no parity, but could someone tell me how many data bits and stop bits are likely to be used?

Leave the C off. You will get 120 results.
