Hi, I've got a micrologix 1200 and I've written a stepper application following the sample application included with the AMCI 3102 stepper controller ( http://amci.com/plc-modules/plcmodules-1762-micrologix-stepper-servo-controller.asp ).
I will be connecting the AMCI module to a 3 axis stepper driver (I'm only using 2 axis though) from Anaheim Automation: http://www.anaheimautomation.com/ma... DPF72002, DPF72003, DPF72004 Users Guide.pdf
I've taken a picture of the AMCI module pinout: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/42/screenhunter02dec060833.gif/
I'm a bit confused on how the hookup between the AMCI and Anaheim automation driver would go...
According to the Anaheim Automation manual, the driver has Clock, Dir (1=CW, 0 = CCW) and Motor On/Off for each axis that must be connected.
My thoughts would be that the output of the AMCI must be connected to the clock inputs direction inputs using AMCI outputs #33-36 in an open collector configuration as shown in the AMCI manual on page 32. ( http://amci.com/pdfs/plc-modules/3102-micrologix-motion-module.pdf )(There is also a differential configuration but I don't think my driver supports that.)
Can someone verify if my thinking is correct? I'd appreciate it.. Thanks!
