Hi all,
I have inherited a system which has proved problematic since installation some years ago and would like to resolve the issues once and for all.
We have an SLC 5/04 which is connected to a 1761-NET-AIC module via the RS232 port. The DH-485 network starts at the 1761 module and is daisy chained to 5 Dtam+ through 1747-AIC Link Couplers.
There are various faults which occur. Most often the Dtam 'locks up' on a 'processing' screen or a relevant custom display. We have also seen;
Comm Error (STS)
SLC error code: 10H
Reset Recommended
I have already found some anomolies with regard to grounding / jumpers at either end of the DH485 cabling and have followed AB's recommendations for optimizing the SLC network performance with DTAMS. (circa 1996)
So far it would seem to have improved but we still have regular 'lock ups'.
Any suggestions welcome.
Cheers...
