Looking for tips on making replacement of failed PLC's, HMI's and Drives easy for E&I techs. This would be all Rockwell Automation Equipment.
I see that most of the Logix family has the ability to use flash cards to take care of this and I think the HIM will handle all of the Drive Parameters as well as the newer Logix Gear will do an automatic device replacment of drives from what I understand.
Looks as the Panelview Gear (We have standard and Plus)has the ability to use flash cards also.
The one area where I have not found much info is the Allen Bradley computers we have some of the 6181 Panel Computers and 6155 Compact Computers and a few 6177 series Computers in towe and rack mount.
I see these have a clone utilty with them. They have quick removal hard drives so can I remove the hard drive from a failed unit and install it into a new unit? Or is it more involved than that?
Looking for any Tips as this is still all very new to me.
