Hi all,

I want to set up an automatic email out of certain alarms from an FTView SE system. I've done some research and found the email sender ActiveX control, which looks like it'll do that - but what I'm wondering is, is there any way to make the servers, rather than the clients, do the emailing? Just because there are different clients for all the different production lines, and I'd rather have it all set up in one place than have to set it up on four different machines.

Any ideas?

That's an interesting idea, I hadn't thought of that route. How hard is it to set up something like that on a DSP? And can the base model do it or do I need the higher spec datalogging models?

I'm still interested to know if there's a way to send from the existing architecture too - as everything on this site is AB it's not easy to justify the extra hardware cost purely to send emails, if it can be done relatively painlessly with what's in place :)

Thanks czw.

Just a quick bump in case anyone else has ideas about doing it natively from the server?
