InTouch 2020 & Windows 10 Enterprise upgrade

Hello
I was running Windows 10 Pro and Archestra AVEVA 2020.
Everything was running fine with this setup.

Corporate wanted me to upgrade the PC’s to
Windows 10 Enterprise and install Defender ATP
After I done these upgrades now my Archestra
AVEVA 2020 has issues communicating to
the GRNODE.


Has anyone had any issues like this or has any
guidance on what I may try to resolve the issue?

You are in DLL/Defender hell; maybe someone here has recovered; your best bet may be to return to the last checkpoint or backup before Corporate stuck their infected finger in your pie.


In future

  • do not let Corporate tell you what to do with these machines;
  • tell them these machines make money for the company,
    • and their meddling does not;
  • because in actual point of fact, their meddling has cost the company money.
Document what happened so you have ammunition for next time.

I will certainly take your advise and note all the
time and money spent on this.

I’ve already tried to remove Defender ATP, but no luck.
So I guess my next try is to restore back or reload the OS.

If you don't have support you should get it now. They can help with these issues.



That being said they couldn't help with my upgrade because even they admitted the new License Manage I had to use was broken. After months of going around they finally said I needed to upgrade to the latest versions. Luckily by that time, corporate bought full support so all licenses got upgraded at no cost.
