Hello everyone,
I have a customer that has a small network 5/03 and 5/04 setup with an AIC's, they were using this with an older pc and the PIC driver, now I think they are using SP3 and it will no longer work
What other ways can they tap in? what is the part number for the device for the DH+ (not PCMK card) is it a KF? I thought this would be good as they would not be moving around and its cheaper.
I have also sent him the link to the AIC
Thanks for any and all help
Mark

my customer said:What they have on site is a 5/04, a 1747-AIC and a 1761-NET-AIC.
The DH485 port of the CPU is not connected to anything but the RS232 port is connected to the 1761-NET-AIC. The RS485 port connects to the 1741 which then connects to a 5/03 of another machine.
My laptop is equipped with a comm. Port and I have in the past connected to the 1747-NET using a 1747-CP3 cable but using the PIC driver, since rebuilding my pc I cannot connect using this method as I get a PIC driver error. From the information I have read this seems to be a problem with Windows XP.
I have tried connecting directly to the RS232 port of the CPU using DF1 but cannot resolve the setting using the same cable, I’ve tried the cable on other devices within the factory and the cable and DF1 driver works fine (5/03)
Please excuse my limited ability to offer further information I work on Siemens PLCs 95% of the time, so my knowledge of Allen Bradley is a little limited
Thanks for any and all help
