PLC's need to be reset

I would like to know if anyone can help. Last night our PLC 500 series went off line and had to be reset (about 20). Along with that all the 1100 series (about 10)lost their programs and had to be reloaded. The PLC's are on a network. Any ideas to what may have happened.
