Rockwell Sample code

I have tried opening several micro800 sample code files with CCW8.0.
The file extension is xml on the samples and will not open with CCW.
I am getting the message to upgrade my software. How do these samples open?

I've been away from PLCs for several years and I'm scratching my head.
