Hello,

I have an Emerson Commander SKC3400400 VFD

It says

Input: 3 phase

Input Range VAC: 342 to 528 Volts AC

My instalation is 3 phase 230V, and the motor i want to control is 3phase 230V

Will this VFD work with 3phase 230V supply or only with 3phase 400v supply ?

Thanks!

No it will not. It tells you right here:

Input Range VAC: 342 to 528 Volts AC

230V < 342V.

You MIGHT be able to get a transformer to boost your 230V supply to 400V, then program the drive to put out 230V max to the motor. But this can be hard on the motor because the DC bus voltage that comprises the PWM pulses will be based on the 400V input, which increases the stresses on the 230V winding insulation. It would be better to just buy a 230V drive.

Ok. Thanks.

But why I connected it to the 230v supply and it turned on. The display at least boot

I havent tried to turn the motor ON

The drive internal logic power supply will run off a very low internal bus voltage. So the drive will "power up". But, as jraef says... don't try and run your motor, unless you don't mind buying a new one
