Citect doesn't have direct access to the PLC tag database like factory talk. If you use the schneider OPC software "OFS" then it can be semi-automatic, you point he OFS software at the unity software project and then you can just reference the tags in citect without adding them to the citect tag TB, but there are still dozens of properties for each tag in citect which you may need to populate. I spent some time trying to figure out how it was going to be a better workflow for us and came to the conclusion that our current setup - using the custom field in unity to enter tag metadata and then a program that parses the PLC program and writes directly to the citect DBFs, creating alarm and trend tags with the correct formatting, ranges, etc, is still much more efficient for us.
