Setup RSlinks/RSlogix on new PC

Hello,

I need to upgrade an old XP Computer to Win 7 that is being used to program Mirologix 1400 PLCs using RSLogix 9.0 and RSLinks.

After the software is installed on the new computer with proper license.

What else is involved to setup, How do I setup RSlinks

anything I should be careful with?

I need to go do this on site soon, Just wondering if anyone can give guidance...

Should be just about the same as the old XP not much has changed, are you using a VM? you may need to if you are using Windows 10... I use this one https://www.virtualbox.org/

Can you backup the RSLinx configuration from the XP computer and restore it to the Win7 computer?
use the backup/restore utility.
