Strokes Per Minute AB Program

I need to calculate strokes per minute of a pneumatic punch press. I am using a Allen Bradley micro 1400 and I am trying to use either the up or down position sensors on the press. any suggestions would be much appreciated.

1 divided by the time (in minutes) between successive actuations of either switch is strokes per minute.

Depends on the rate/speed of the press. What is it?
What sensors are on it?
Limit switches (ok for relatively slow speeds)
Optical (Good for high speeds)

Start a Timer, and then Move the ellapsed time, and Reset it once the switch is made.

we use the top dead center limit switch.
when you get off the switch, start a timer.
when you get back on the switch, stop the timer.
divide 60 by the time elapsed and get the strokes per minute.
