I stated "maps software" i found info relating to "CAPS" software
And keys. I have an omron plc that was originally done
In caps jr. Its down, need any help. Is the key hardware
Only?? Any way around getting online with cx programmer??
Or anything else??

Just to add to BobB's response.
CAPS required a hardware dongle on the parallel port.
Software will not work without the dongle.
You can certainly connect to the plc with CX-Programmer.
You would not have the descriptors / symbols, but would have full access to the code.
One of the dip switches will reset the port to default if you are having connection issues. See attachment.

I am Supposed to be getting dongle via ups from OEM to get this back online
I have CX programmer V2.1 OLD.. But I could not get online or even see the node of his PLC. I even swapped out comm card in CPU as customer had already blown RS232 port. I had to previously replace the 232 IC on the comm card to get it going a couple months ago.
The OEM said I could not see program etc. due to Caps and dongle??
I am not familiar with this software "yet"

If the RS232 port is potentially a problem, I would try the Peripheral port.
You can get a USB version of the CQM1-CIF02 here:

These are two separate communication ports on the CQM1-CPU43.
The Peripheral port is a TTL logic level originally set up for the handheld programmer.
Just a thought. Hope this helps.

That's where I purchased my cable from (CQM1-CF102)
I was on the peripheral port, but no connection.
I have another cpu to verify I could see comms. cable and cx is working, but I did not have dip switch 5 set to on, just 3&4
they have a operator panel on the rs232 d sub port already..
do you think that switch 5 may be the reason I cant see PLC node?

I would try setting Switch 5 to ON.
You will need to cycle power after changing the switch.
This should reset the comm parameters to default: 9600,7,E,2.
If you cannot connect, try 2400,7,E,2.
Not sure how old your CPU is. Original CPU default was 2400.
Later models improved to 9600.
If you get connected, record the values in DM6645, 6646, 6650, 6651. This will let you figure out the settings for each port.
Hope this will help.
