CitectHMI vs. CitectSCADA.

Hi,

does anyone know what kind of price difference there is between CitectHMI (aimed at OEMs) and CitectSCADA (aimed at the end users) ?

Right - I know I could approach Citect for a quote. But I just hate the wrangling you have to do to get one price only. I am just looking for an approximate price difference.

If there is a substantial saving, then maybe I will reevaluate my HMI strategy. I allways liked Citect - but the price was just tooo high when compared to the competition.

Sorry JesperMP, have not priced HMI.

Another option, if you have a OPC driver, is Omron CX-Supervisor. You buy the development package and then only have to buy a runtime licence and dongle each time you install it. Unlimited tags too. Supports VB as well as it's own programming language. Some limitations, of course, at the price but really powerful. Have used it on less expensive jobs and will in the future.

In the meantime, I will contact my friend at Citect and see if I can find out.

I am not 100% shure of this, but this is what i remember.

The problem for the pricing of the HMI licenses is that it depends of different parameters.

The number of licences you puchase, what drivers tou use (only three drivers on a licence). And if i rememberd correctly there is no networking possible with a HMI license.
