ControlLogix 1756-L61/B problem : Cannot update firmware

Hardware information:

Firmware I have:
12.32 & 13.36.1

Both of the firmware cannot update thru RSLogix or ControlFlash.

In RSLogix, I can see it will upgrade to 12.32 or 13.36.1, but it returned an error which is:

In ControlFlash (V4.00.09) I cannot locate the firmware (even I choose the correcect folder, it doesn't show up) once I selected L61 online.

What's wrong with that? or I need to update my RSLogix or firmware version?

BTW, my RSLogix is V13.02

You probably have ser B processor, so minimum is 12.42 and 13.44

And try to avoid flashing controller via serial port, use ethernet

Is that means I need to download a new firmware from AB? Unfortunately, they will charge me for that.

Absolutely not true, logix firmware is free.
You just need a valid serial number of your RSLogix5000 software (it does not have to be in support).
