Which S7-200 are you working with? Each model has different retentive ranges, and retain the values for differing times.

My experince has been with S7-212, -214, -216 and values placed in the V0-V1000, or as latched outputs in the M0-M15 memory areas have retained values for up to 20 days before internal capacitor went dead enough to lose values.

Later versions of these units have a battery cartridge that plugs into PROM socket to extend value retention, I assume S7-224,226 models retain battery accessory.
