Is it normal for the baud rate from PC (DF1 Driver) to Slc 5/04 to be 1200? When watching a program run on the PC, communications seems to be very slow. Packet sending is at 1.2 seconds. Is there a tip or trick that I'm not seeing, that would have more of a real time scan?

1200 baud is damn slow... go online with processor and boost ch0 comms to 19.2 then re autoconfig rslinx... unless you got a 1200 baud device hooked up you need to have like a bar code reader or some weird old modem.

If the processor memory had been cleared completely due to corruption it probably defaulted to 1200 baud. What Magic 8 Ball posted should speed things up.

Exactly; the default baud rate for early (mid 1990s era) SLC-5/0x controllers was 1200 baud. For the PLC-5 it was 2400 baud.

The default was changed to 19200 baud about about 5 or 6 years ago.

If you're just using an RS232 cable under 50 feet to connect, go ahead and set it to 19200 on the controller then change it in RSLinx as well.
