Exporting RSLogix5000 Program Tags

Is there a way to just export the Program tags in RSLogix 5000 to a CSV file? Thanks for any help

Yes, I don't have 5000 on this PC but there is an export

Look on the top 4th over from file maybe?? but I know its up there

Not installed by default, but on the installation CD, is a utility called "RSView Tag Import Utility". That can be used to export tags to a CSV file.

You must start with a save done in .L5K format, and the utility is not exactly 'complete'. Rockwell doesn't seem to feel the need to actually make it work 100% of the time. In particular, it will fail on any tag that is over 40 characters (as is easily possible with nested levels of UDT's), but Rockwell released it AS IS, and refuses to update it even after many years.

There is also a more limited export under the tools menu, but I haven't used that in a while.

Right Click on The Program tags icon in the controller organizer and then left click on expot tags.

Thanks. Right click on the program tags is what I looking for. If you only knew how long I looked around for this feature and to find out it was just a right click away. I was doing the Homer Simpson expression when I read the post.
